Faculty Development Programme on Big Data Analytics-Tools and Techniques (BDT-2017)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Calicut, organized a six day faculty development programme on Big Data Analytics-Tools and Techniques (BDT-2017), from February 27^th 2017 to 4^th March 2017. The programme was sponsored by TEQIP II unit of NITC. The programme had faculty participants from several Government Engineering colleges in Kerala, as well as research scholars from the state and neighbouring states. The  resource persons included faculty from IIT Ropar, IIMK, NIT Karnataka,  and faculty from NIT Calicut.

To complement in-depth theoretical talks on Big Data, Machine Learning, Business Analytics,  Big Data Security and Provenance, Statistical and Predictive Analysis, Research topics in Bioinformatics involving Big Data, and Algorithms for Big Data, there were  informative and lucid tutorials on Tensorflow, Hadoop, R programming, Python, SPARK, and Flink, which were highly appreciated by the participants.

A cultural evening was also organized for the participants of the programme, which featured a classical dance performance by one of the leading dance schools in the city.
