INAUGURATION OF CSEA ACTIVITIES FOR 2013-14

Dr. Balaji Palanisamy, Assistant Professor, University of Pittsburgh, USA, inaugurated the CSEA  activities for 2013-14,  on 22nd July, 2013,  with his enlightening  lecture on "Cost-effective Resource Management for Map Reduce Clouds: Challenges, Architectures and Techniques".  The keynote address was aimed at creating an awareness about network inefficiencies in Hadoop clusters,  when bursty input were generated in map or reduce tasks. He presented details about his research at Georgia Institute of Technology on Purlieus, an efficient architecture for bursty map or reduce data,  and Cura, a framework for cost optimization  of the resources for  providing cloud services .   

Dr. S.D Madhu Kumar, HOD CSED, Ms. Lijiya.A, faculty in charge CSEA and Mr. Govind M spoke on the occasion. Ms. Anu Mary Chacko presented the memento to the speaker.
