The fifth lecture in the Prof. M N Neelakantan Memorial Lecture Series was given by Dr Benny George Kenkireth, Assistant Professor, Dept of CSE, IIT Guwahati and an NITC alumnus on the topic “A panoramic view of matching algorithms under preferences” on 29-09-2015,Tuesday in the CSED Seminar Hall.
Dr Benny George Kenkireth,an alumnus of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, is the recipient of Microsoft Outstanding Young Faculty Award in 2011. His main research interests include word combinatorics, combinatorics, algorithms and randomness in computation.
The lecture focused on various aspects of matching algorithms like Gale-Shapeley algorithm, the stability of matching and on various practical examples of matching problems.
The talk was attended by faculty, staff and students of NIT Calicut. The lecture was presided over by Dr K A Abdul Nazeer,HoD,CSED. Dr. Vinod Pathari, Asst. Professor, CSED spoke about Prof. M.N Neelakantan and his services to NIT Calicut and CSE Department .The event came to a close with an interactive session with the speaker and a photo session.
