The paper titled “A Computational Method for Drug Repositioning using Publicly Available Gene Expression Data” authored by Shabana K M, Abdul Nazeer K A, Meeta Pradhan and Mathew J Palakal, won the BEST PAPER award in the 4th IEEE International Conference on Computational Advances in Bio and Medical Sciences (ICCABS-2014) held during 2- 4 June 2014 at Florida, USA.
Ms. Shabana was our M.Tech student and gold medalist.
Dr. Masoor Alicherry, Vice President of Engineering at Vizury Interactive Solution Pvt. Ltd. gave an expert lecture on Bitcoins: Story Of Cryptocurrency on 1st April 2014. Bitcoin is a peer to peer payment system introduced as open source in 2009. It is also known as a decentralized virtual currency as it is not controlled by any bank or government enterprises. The lecture covered the history as well as the technological overview of Bitcoins.
