The CSED, NIT Calicut web site is created and maintained by the department to disseminate information about the activities and programs of the department to individuals and the educational and research communities over the Internet. This laboratory was established in 2009 with an objective of fostering research in the emerging area of Bioinformatics,Computational Biology and to provide the infrastructure for conducting the regular labs and project works for the M Tech program . The department has a long term objective of developing this into a ‘Center of Excellence in Big Data and Biocomputing ‘ with collaboration from institutes of national and international repute. The lab is equipped with state of the art computing facilities with wired and wireless Internet connectivity .
